Free range burgers for a happy conscience
As much as I'd like to think I could be a vegetarian, I really don't think I could handle it. But I do care about where my meat comes from. I always buy free-range and try to do my research with brands so I know what they mean by free-range.

I can't stand the idea that animals are kept in horrible conditions their entire lives, frightened and depressed, only to be killed and eaten. The wellbeing of the animal is important to me, not only for the sake of its happiness, which is imperative, but for the fact that when animals are stressed, the toxins that are released into their bodies are then passed onto the person who is eating it.

Now you know my stance on animal welfare, you can understand my excitement when I discovered a burger place that only serves proper free-range meat. StreetSoul Burger Bar has some of the yummiest and crave-worthy burgers I've ever had (and I've dined in some awesome New York burger places).

My favourite burger is the Beef Man with grass-fed beef, lettuce, tomato, Spanish onions, aioli and homemade tomato relish. I always 'make it cheesy' with cheese, pickles and mustard. I'm trying not to drool on my keyboard as I write this.

The owner, Amit Tewari, is a top guy. He's super friendly and you can tell he loves what he does. I was chatting to him about how I love that the animals are grass fed and most importantly free-range because it's so hard to find. He then told me that they don't just buy brands that claim to be free-range, they actually source the farms themselves and specially pick ones that have proper free-range facilities. He said that sometimes places claim they're free range if they let them out for an hour or if they just open a window.

This only fuelled my love for this new burger joint because not only is it incredibly delicious but also I know I'm getting quality.

Speaking of delicious, my other favourite thing on the menu is the nacho styles fries, which are exactly what you're thinking. Its fries covered in cheese, sour cream, guacamole and diced tomato. Heavenly.

If you don't like the idea of the nacho chips, their usual serving of fries are brilliant on their own as they're sprinkled with rosemary.

I can't rave about this place enough and I find myself wanting to go there every weekend. If you want an amazing burger that's guilt free (for you conscience anyway) then head to StreetSoul Burger Bar in Randwick.

I absolutely love this restaurant! The owner is a champion too I asked him about the pasture raised concept and he was obviously really up to date on the fors and against eating meat and when we might think it is "ethical" to do so.

Delicious food. The ethical eating isn't as much of a big deal for me as it is for others, the taste is more than enough. Great to get fresh ingredients in urban sydney
