Brisbanes Street Performers Are All Human, Even Melon

Street Performers Of South Bank Brisbane

For many years the street performers of South Bank have been an important part of the atmosphere. When you visit South Bank there is always someone to watch. Strolling along the pathways you will come across musicians & street acts who come with no price tag, only a coin if you are generous.

Over the years I have seen a lot of performers on my trips to South Bank, but nobody makes my children and I laugh like Melon. Melon The Human, a circus-style performer, will start off by performing with a broom and finish with a huge aerial cube.

In between the broom and the cube Melon juggles different items, contorts his body and like most street performers he will bring up a volunteer to interact with during the show. By the end of the show, people are always laughing and clapping, hopefully filling Melon's hat with thank you coins.

Melon isn't the only performer we love. Every single performer deserves credit for the entertainment they bring to the streets of South Bank. You will see performers juggle sticks of fire and ride extremely tall unicycles and hear sounds from the instruments of musicians who come to entertain you for the day.

The best time to see Street Performances in Brisbane's South Bank are on the weekend. If you are local to Brisbane I'm sure you have already appreciated the sights of these performers. If you are visiting Brisbane, you will not be disappointed.

The South Bank Parklands are located in South Brisbane. You can save on costs by booking ahead for parking or riding the CityCat from many of the surrounding stops.
