Street Food Social is a food truck event, popping up in various locations around Port Stephens and Newcastle (see here for the next event). The foodie extravaganza is organised by the people behind the hugely popular Sacred Tree Markets in Nelson Bay. They realised that the small area they had for the food trucks wasn't enough - so they decided to dedicate a whole event just for local food trucks, much to the excitement of the locals.
The first market was held at Fly Point Park in Nelson Bay in January 2019 and it attracted such a large crowd, that you couldn't have wished for a better opening event. As the sun went down over the holiday town, hundreds of locals and tourists lay on blankets and devoured fried dumplings, baos, burgers and a wide range of international food for every palette. Live music filled the air from the stage, as market stalls sold their wares behind.
Street Food Social is a breath of fresh air wherever it goes - where will it be this weekend?
Are you hungry? Well, you will be, when you see the range of food that is on offer at Street Food Social events. Each event has a wide range of food trucks from around the region, which change all the time, depending on their availability. The range of options is enough so that everyone can walk along and find just what they are looking for - whether it be a light meal or a 7-course food truck degustation.

Our family went to the first Street Food Social and one of our personal favourites was Newcastle husband and wife team Choux Patisserie, who sold freshly-made French eclairs with a tantalising range of sweet flavour toppings. We enjoyed a watermelon-topped éclair, which came in a little boutique paper bag and melted in the mouth, with every soft bite. According to their Facebook, their flavours change regularly, with new flavour combinations to try at every market. At the time of writing they have Salted Caramel, Candied Peanuts & Gold, as well as Berry Delice with Rice Pudding Custard and Lemon, Peach & Jasmine, to name just a few.
I can guarantee - if you see them, you won't walk by...

Street Food Social is a food truck event, but it is also a way for the local community to come together and support local businesses and musicians. Food trucks from Port Stephens and Newcastle follow the events each weekend, making a living from sharing their creative, delicious food morsels with hungry crowds. Try a range of cuisines from all around the world as you relax with family and friends, as the sun goes down over the region. It is the place to be in town!
Make sure you arrive with an empty stomach, however, as you are going to want to try absolutely everything...
