Street Food Australia

Street Food Australia, recently partnered with celebrity chef Luke Nguyen, is a start-up social enterprise dedicated to helping disadvantaged migrants and refugees start their own business in the food industry. SFA will provide each vendor with a custom-made bicycle food cart, as well as training and support for two years.

After raising more than $20,000, SFA is ready to roll. Dine al fresco in the Berwick Street courtyard and sample authentic street food from around the world: Chinese dumplings, South American elote, Vietnamese bahn mi, and more. Enjoy live music by Greshka, a pop-up book shop, incredible images in the screening room, and a bar. All profits from the evening will be used to support migrants, refugees, and the disadvantaged.

This is such a good idea. I hope that Council gets behind it and the vendors don't run into the same trouble that some of the food trucks have in areas of the United States- parking, permits, red tape galore.
