Authentic ethnic food from bespoke bicycle carts
Fill your belly and feel good at the same time when Street Food Australia launches at the Judith Wright Centre onThursday, February 7, 2013 from 6pm to 9pm.

Street Food Australia

Street Food Australia, recently partnered with celebrity chef Luke Nguyen, is a start-up social enterprise dedicated to helping disadvantaged migrants and refugees start their own business in the food industry. SFA will provide each vendor with a custom-made bicycle food cart, as well as training and support for two years.

After raising more than $20,000, SFA is ready to roll. Dine al fresco in the Berwick Street courtyard and sample authentic street food from around the world: Chinese dumplings, South American elote, Vietnamese bahn mi, and more. Enjoy live music by Greshka, a pop-up book shop, incredible images in the screening room, and a bar. All profits from the evening will be used to support migrants, refugees, and the disadvantaged.

For more information of this worthy project, visit the Street Food Australia website.

This is such a good idea. I hope that Council gets behind it and the vendors don't run into the same trouble that some of the food trucks have in areas of the United States- parking, permits, red tape galore.
