I like to participate in life rather than be a spectator. Music, dancing, theatre, travelling, food, cycling and walking are some of my passions. Writing is an enjoyable pastime that allows me to share my experiences.
Family Food Festival

On the fourth Saturday of the month, Foreshore Park comes alive with a plethora of hungry patrons lining up at various food trucks. Families and groups of friends stake out a patch of grass with their picnic blankets before deciding which country's cuisine they are going to sample. Street Feast is an initiative of Hunt and Gather Events which aims to bring the community together whilst providing opportunities for local businesses.
Many of the sweet and dessert vendors are located under the old railway sheds whereas the 'main meal' trucks are corralled around the outside. Musicians and strolling performers entertain the picnicking diners who congregate around heaters in happy groups.
There is a great variety of foods from all over the world, paella, curry, pho and Argentinian BBQ to name a few. Refreshment ranges from freshly squeezed lemonade, ciders, beers, wine, coffee and hot chocolate. The range of desserts is exciting for both children and adults with ice creams and gelato, pancakes and pastries on offer.
