Large scale murals that are just stunning
I reckon there isn't a better time to visit Port Adelaide than now. Astounding pieces of street art have been created around its precincts by international, national and local artists.
Port Adelaide was Adelaide's main supply and information link in the late 19th century and early 20th century. However, the introduction of containerisation impacted its local workforce significantly which led to an economic slowdown and eventual decline. Only recently, in the past ten years or so, had investment been poured in to renew it.
Street art in the form of stunning large-scale murals can be seen in various public locations along the streets of Port Adelaide.
So, when you get the chance, I would recommend exploring the streets of Port Adelaide to discover them. Don't forget your camera. These unique works of art are definitely worth a couple of shots whether you're into photography or not.
Port Adelaide is located just 14 kilometres northwest of the city.
