Stop homelessness the delicious way

STREAT have a small coffee cart in Melbourne Central, located on the ground level next to the escalators (as you're coming up from the train station, before you get to the clock level).

STREAT describe themselves as
'a social enterprise providing homeless youth
with a supported pathway to long-term careers
in the hospitality industry
'.
I think it's a great idea.

Their motto is 'Stop homelessness the delicious way' but they don't mean cannibalism. 100% of their profits go towards helping the homeless. Their coffee is Fair Trade and organic.

I got my coffee from this cart yesterday ($4 for a medium). There was a long wait (about 10 minutes), but I have to admit it was nice (smooth, easy to drink, with loads of chocolate powder on top).

They have a pastry deal for breakfast:

These guys are definitely worth checking out. You can find them on Twitter here. STREAT also have a cafe on McKillop Street and one in Flemington.
