I'm a kiwi living on the Sunshine Coast working 8-5, five days a week. When the weekend rolls around, travel and new experiences are top priority!

Good simple fun for the whole family!

At this time of year on the Sunshine Coast, there are a number of 'pick your own strawberry farms'. So how do you choose?

Strawberry Fields has hit the nail on the head. You could spend hours here.

Not only do they provide picturesque fields to pick the freshest berries the coast has to offer, but your trip doesn't have to finish at that. Once you have worked up an appetite can set up a picnic and in their large grassed area. Bring a blanket and a picnic basket or simply use the tables provided. Don't want to bring a picnic? They have that sorted too with a sweet little café serving everything strawberry from scones and jam to ice creams, tarts and of course chocolate coated strawberries.

Keep the kids entertained on the playground or even among the hay bales while you enjoy a late in the sunshine. This season they have opened a new seating area which means plenty of undercover seating for everyone.

The beauty about Strawberry Fields is they have kept it simple but done it well. It really is a wonderful spot to spend an hour or an afternoon.

Picking hours are from 8:30 – 4:30pm. Take the Aussie World exit to get there, just follow the signs it's easy!

Don't miss out on this Winter treat. Something this yummy can't last all year.
