Bigger and better this year, the Strathfield Spring Festival is an event the whole family will enjoy with something to suit all tastes. There's live entertainment in the bucket loads and plenty of activities for young and old.

Held in Strathfield Park, from 10am-5pm, entertainment is in the form of music, dance, cultural performances, acrobatics, and some clowning around. Justine Clarke, bestselling children's music artist and author, will headline the main stage acts performing hit songs Watermelon, Gumtree Family and Song to Make You Smile.

Other music comes from the likes of the Strathfield Symphony Orchestra, Strathfield Community Choir and St Anne's Primary School Band. Dance in combination with music will further entertain onlookers when cultural groups take to the stage. Traditional Chinese and Japanese dances, and a Korean fan dance, will be popular with dancers sure to stand out for their colourful costumes. Drumming groups add a different beat with Wadaiko Rindo showing you how it's done Japanese-style and Drumbeats giving you the lowdown African-style. On the home front, the Koomurri Aboriginal Dance Troupe delivers world-class performances as they share their culture.

Completing the stage program are Ace P Freckle and his clown show, a circus act and workshop, and a line-up of further dance entities. For all the acts and timings, click here .

Elsewhere around the park, you'll find sports activities and displays, carnival rides, plenty of food and market stalls. The young ones with love the pony rides and petting zoo, face painting and outdoor storytime in the rotunda with fun activities and prizes to be won. In the secret garden, there's a seedling planting activation as well as composting demos and a flower crown workshop.

Bring your bike along or, better still, reduce your carbon footprint by riding your bike to these festivities. Tune Cycles are providing a free tune-up session, along with a virtual cycling demonstration where you can experience riding on the world's most famous tracks.

This event with free entry also has a free return shuttle bus operating on a continuous loop between Strathfield train station (in the STA bus zone) and the park. It runs every 20minutes at each location during the course of the festival.

If you prefer to drive, parking in the surrounding streets of Homebush Road, Chalmers Road, Gelling Avenue and Augusta Street is available but limited.
