The first event is on Monday 26th June between 6-8pm, when Joan London will discuss her book, The Golden Age. Joan has received many awards for her collections of stories and three novels. The Golden Age is about a teenage refugee from wartime Hungary, Frank Gold, who has contracted polio in Australia. While learning to walk again at the Golden Age Children's Polio Convalescent Home in Perth, he forms a forbidden, passionate bond with a fellow patient.
