Join highly acclaimed author
Hossein Asgari in finding inspiration from everyday living to craft compelling narratives.
Hossein Asgari studied physics and creative writing. His short stories have appeared in
The Suburban Review, Overland, and The Saltbush Review, and he has a story forthcoming in
Splinter. His first novel,
Only Sound Remains, was shortlisted for the
Miles Franklin Literary Award and the
Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards in 2024.
This workshop aims to illustrate how writers fictionalise elements of their day-to-day lives to craft compelling narratives, transforming personal experiences into stories that help them make sense of their realities and evoke what they perceive as their truths. With this workshop, participants will identify those
story-worthy moments, explore the ideas related to those moments, develop characters that suit the story, build the world of the story, refine and rewrite.
Located at
State Library, North Terrace, Adelaide, this workshop will be held on
8 February 2025, starting from
10 am to 1 pm. Book
