Join highly acclaimed author Hossein Asgari in finding inspiration from everyday living to craft compelling narratives. Hossein Asgari studied physics and creative writing. His short stories have appeared in The Suburban Review, Overland, and The Saltbush Review, and he has a story forthcoming in Splinter. His first novel, Only Sound Remains, was shortlisted for the Miles Franklin Literary Award and the Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards in 2024.

This workshop aims to illustrate how writers fictionalise elements of their day-to-day lives to craft compelling narratives, transforming personal experiences into stories that help them make sense of their realities and evoke what they perceive as their truths. With this workshop, participants will identify those story-worthy moments, explore the ideas related to those moments, develop characters that suit the story, build the world of the story, refine and rewrite.

Located at State Library, North Terrace, Adelaide, this workshop will be held on 8 February 2025, starting from 10 am to 1 pm. Book here , $44 for Writers SA members and $110 for non-members.
