I like to participate in life rather than be a spectator. Music, dancing, theatre, travelling, food, cycling and walking are some of my passions. Writing is an enjoyable pastime that allows me to share my experiences.

Take a trip to the Southern Highlands and to
Storybook Alpacas for a farm visit with a difference. The farm is family owned and operated. Karen and her daughter Rubey are incredibly hospitable hosts who are very passionate about their four-legged friends.

During your visit, you will have plenty of opportunities to get up close and personal with the gentle curious alpacas. It is also fun to watch the other visitors interacting with the alpacas. The star of the herd is the photogenic older statesman
Ruger who loves cuddles, selfies and chatting up the girls.

Karen and Rubey are very friendly and love sharing their knowledge of alpacas. The visit is informally structured you get to meet, feed, walk and pat the animals whilst learning a few facts about them. Their individual personalities are easy to observe and some of them will even give you an "Eskimo kiss".

Tea, coffee, juice, fruit, biscuits and cake are served for morning/afternoon tea in the garden where you can continue to watch the animals whilst chatting to the other visitors. Alpaca related products can be purchased in the gift shop or

Don't worry about getting too close, they spit to ward off intruders and amorous males and rarely spit at humans.
