Reading is a wonderful way to expand children's minds and the best way to help them develop a lifelong pleasure of reading is to start them early. My own love of reading started at a very early age and today I still own many of the books that were given to me as a young child. Enid Blyton's Storytime Book and Anna Sewell's Black Beauty still feature promptly on the shelves of my home library.
Introducing your child to reading will provide great social and emotional benefits and its documented that children who read have improved concentration, improved vocabulary and language skills, greater creativity and imagination, a broader world view and let's face it, reading is fun.
The Mount Barker Community Library, 5 Dumas Street, Mount Barker invited families to Story Time sessions for children aged 2 to 5 years old.
Free thirty-minute sessions are held Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday of each week at 10.30 am and are a wonderful way to introduce your child to the joy of reading.
The library requests that if you or anyone in your family are experiencing cold and/or flu-like symptoms that you do not attend and that all entering the library use the hand sanitiser provided at the entrance.
Bookings are essential and seating will be arranged to ensure physical distancing between adults.
Crafts packs are provided for children to take home.
