As part of Water Safety Week 2017, Boof the Barra will be visiting Darwin Libraries to remind parents, carers and children to be water safety wise, in, on and around the water. Boof the Barra, the water safety mascot for Northern Territory, always reminds all Territorians about the importance of water safety. Northern Territory has an "all year play in the water" season and has lot of creeks, rivers, billabongs, water holes, and swimming pools, so being water safety wise is a must to reduce drowning rates.
Boof the Barra will be visiting the library, reading some stories and sharing the Be Water Safety Wise dance with everyone. Boof the Barra will be at Casuarina Library on Monday 25th September, Karama Library on Tuesday 26th September, at City Library on Wednesday 27th September, and Nightcliff Library Story for story telling on Thursday 28th September 2017. All events will be start at 10am until 11am.
This is a free event for children aged 0 to 5 years old. No need for bookings, just turn up and bring your little ones along and meet Boof the Barra. For more information, please phone (08) 8930 0300 or visit the website
