Brisbane 's inner-city suburb, West End , was given its name by early English settlers who found the area similar to their memories of West End in London. Now serviced well by buses and trains, West End was one of the first suburbs to have a tram line. At the 2011 Australian Census, West End had a population of 8,061 people.

Today, West End is a very popular place with numerous restaurants, coffee houses, bars, shops, live music and great markets on a weekend, which entices visitors and residents alike to come out and browse all that is on offer.

To celebrate all things West End, Provenance Fare is on again next Saturday, 28th August 2016 with doors opening at 8.00am. This year, Alastair McLeod will be the MC from 11.00 am and he will also run cooking demonstrations during the afternoon.

The goal behind is about real food, the supply of food and how good the food tastes. Four generations of the Schulte family have been transporting fresh meats and smallgoods to communities. Now they are joining together with other Lockyer Valley and Darling Downs farming families to provide a one-stop supplier of quality food.

Predominately, the fare is made up of local producers from the Lockyer Valley and Darling Downs, which includes the following family businesses

  • Peter Schulte family-owned Artisan Butcher
  • The Glasser Family from Yagaburne Beef
  • The Puglisi Family from Ballandean Wines
  • Ian and Dot Roy of Coolanan Olives
  • The Lind Family from Gold Creamery White Gold Creamery
  • Rob Bauer/Trudy Townsend from Bauer's Organics
  • Jason O'Connor from SeatonFire Chilli Chocolate
