Stop The Bully, a picture book created and illustrated by Clever Lamp, begins with a little boy bully named Roy. He lives near the playground and waits near his window for the other kids to arrive. The mothers say that he probably does not know any better. The kids disagree - he is downright mean and annoying! Until one day, the kids are fed up. They go home and draw marks on themselves that look like measles. Later on, while at the playground, Roy sees the marks and cries! The kids chase him and Roy runs home. For the kids, it is a fantastic day.
The plot is a hot topic these days, which is child bullying. The pace is that of a typical beginner's picture book. The action is a bit confusing. In other words, does Roy stay away forever? The characters are believable, describing what typical children go through. The plot to me is safety in numbers and to be kind. I could be wrong, as the book kind-of leaves one hanging. Does he stay away forever? Do they become friends? Does he return to his former ways? I give the book a four-star rating.
