The Stonnington Library and Information Service which includes four libraries in South Yarra, Prahran, Malvern and Malvern East may well be closed, but they're still providing members with events to keep them engaged while in isolation. The following are such events you may want to join for FREE, for which you don't have to be a member. Click on each given link for more details about the online events; equipment & app downloads you need to enable your attendance, and to register for your free tickets, to attend. You'll be provided with the ZOOM Meeting Link when you book.

Wed 13 May 6.30-7.40pm: Webinar - Open Book: The Orange Grove and Gulliver's Wife - Join to hear from best selling authors of historical fiction, Lauren Chater and Kate Murdoch who'll be joined in conversation by Melbourne writer Claire Halliday to discuss historical fiction.
Thu 21 May 1-3pm: Webinar - Get Connected: Backing Up Data on the Cloud - learn different ways to back up your computer, smartphone or tablet.
Thu 28 May 1030am-12pm: Webinar - Get Connected: All about Apps - cut the confusion and learn the basics of the App Store and how to search for Apps based on your interests.

Thu 28 May 6.30-8pm: Webinar - Open Book: Fonts and Fiction - Melbourne novelist and essayist Nick Gadd gives an illuminating talk about typography in fiction.
Sat 30 May 10.30-11.10am: Open Book: Vertical Gardens - Blue Bee Garden Design's Kaye Roberts-Palmer will present a short video about growing and caring for your vertical garden, followed by Q&A with Kaye.
Thu 4 Jun 1-2.30pm: Webinar: Video Chat - communication and connection and how to use some of the many video communication methods available.
Wed 10 Jun 7.30-8.30pm: Open Book: Sticks and Stones - online book talk with journalist Katherine Finn about her debut crime novel and the not so pretty truths about crime and court reporting.

If you're a Member of the Stonnington libraries, there are bonuses to be had. Subscribe to the Library to be in the know via regular newsletters. Other than that, all you need is your library membership card and your password to stream and/or download movies and music, for FREE.

Your library membership opens the door to many FREE subscriber-only online services. There's a wide range including encyclopaedias and reference sites, eBooks and eAudiobooks, downloadable magazines and newspapers, documentaries and more. If you're not a member and would like to access all these perks, you can JOIN ONLINE. If you need assistance with accessing the eLibrary, basic tech help, research and reading enquiries, you can contact the libraries with your queries from 10am-4pm Mon to Fri..
