On any given day, the farm is worth a visit with young children. There are llamas, sheep, horses, ducks and goats to see (and sometimes pet!). A playground outfitted with a John Deere tractor, a "workbench", swings, slides and in warmer weather, a creek to dip little toes in.
In addition, there are easy to walk trails that will let you view the farm and surrounding woods and streams.Snow shoes that can be borrowed when snow covers the ground, as it so frequently does in the New England winter months.
Finally, be sure to check out the calendar for the Stonewall Farm. There are frequent seasonal events that have something for the whole family. In November there is the Thanksgiving Farm Fare with plenty of locally sourced tasty treats.
December usually brings the Stonewall Farm's craft fair, while March is greatly anticipated at the farm for the annual sap gathering contest. Best of all may be the frequent hay rides pulled by Stonewall's beautiful Belgiums.
