Stones Corner is not an area renowned for its green space, but there is a local spot, slightly hidden away, which is a nice little park for a weekend picnic, bike ride or play session with the four legged pals. Hanlon Park is located off Old Cleveland Road and has parking available with lots of facilities.



The layout of the park is interesting. Divided by a canal running the length of the park, it's separated into two sections with cross over paths to get from one side to the other. There are bike paths, lush grassy picnic and playground areas and lots of useful facilities including taps, toilets and different sets of play equipment.



I went for a walk with my mother and my dog on Sunday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised by the amount of people walking, playing frisbee, families using the BBQ and play equipment- it was great. People were friendly and said hello, and the paths were well maintained and signed for cyclists and walkers alike.



Although the canal is an odd feature and would require parental supervision for littlies in that aspect, Hanlon Park is otherwise a lovely, happy green space in the Stones Corner area which is well serviced by Council and has different areas for different activities. There were also plenty of easily accessible car parks to make life simple. My puppy enjoyed the nice, long walk and the different places to explore, so we'll definitely be back.
