The Stirling Square Markets is a local market held in the town of Guildford on the third Sunday of each month from February through to December. On Sunday, 19 May 2019, the Stirling Square Markets will be setting up shop again in Stirling Square in Guildford from 9am to 2pm. Entry to the market will be free.
I've been to the Stirling Square Markets a couple of times. They always have the most interesting things for sale. One time when I was there, I saw a market stall selling replicas of medieval armour and another time I visited, I came home with a hand-painted flower pot. It's a lot of fun to see the sort of things that people like to sell at these sorts of markets. There's a lot of creative people out there. A lot of local businesses will be appearing at the markets on Sunday, 19 May selling things like homemade children's clothes, locally made soaps and perfumes, vintage fashions and accessories, homemade jewellery, and more.
The Stirling Square Markets is held in Stirling Square on Meadow Street in Guildford. There is plenty of wide, open spaces for kids to run about and dogs on leashes are welcome at all times. There is play equipment for the kids, a gazebo, multiple shade areas, parking available (including disabled), and public toilets (wheelchair accessible) as well.
Stirling Square is a short walk from Guildford Train Station and is located across the road from Guildford's shopping and antique strip. Stirling Square is home to the War Memorial and St Matthew's Church which was built in 1873. You can take a self-guided walk through the Square which highlights its historical and pioneering past.
On Sunday, 19 May 2019, there will be FREE activities held for children in Stirling Square as part of the markets. There will be face painting, a bouncy castle, giant bubbles, giant Jenga, noughts and crosses and more. There will also be live entertainment.
