The picturesque garden in the town of Harvey. The gardens have been developed around the home of May Gibbs, Australian writer and author of the popular children's series
The Gumnut Babies.

The beginning of the gardens
Arriving at the cottage it doesn't look like much. A parking lot and outdated tourist centre mark the entrance but beyond that lies something beautiful. The cottage where May Gibbs resided has been renovated into a cafe. The outdoor seating area reaches out over the Harvey River, providing a pleasant place to drink tea and feast on the delicious scones made at the cottage.
Focusing on the gardens themselves. They are a whole other class of spectacular, home to numerous flowers, plants and fruit trees. Along with the lush green grass surrounding the gardens, they create the perfect environment for a picnic.
A visit to the gardens is the perfect lazy-day Sunday activity. The perfect scenery for any budding photographer too!
