Is this the best coffee in Largs?
Where can you go for some of the best breakfast, lunch and coffee, all in one place and without leaving the LeFevre Peninsula? To Stir Cafe of course! If you've driven past the cafe on Military Road, Largs North but haven't stopped yet, now is the time.
Keep your eyes out for the blue 'Stir' bicycle on the side of Military Road and you'll know you've arrived.
Stir's funky, modern and welcoming interior.
Outside dining in the courtyard.
The owners of Stir Cafe, Neil and Gemma, are LeFevre locals who aim to support the community by using locally sourced ingredients for all of their offerings, including bread, milk, small goods and delicious coffee beans. They've been doing so since August 2013 when Stir Cafe was born.
Neil and Gemma, owners of Stir Cafe, our wonderful hosts.
What better way to start the day than with a home cooked breakfast that you didn't have to cook yourself! We recommend the Eggs & Bacon on Turkish Bread - with eggs scrambled or fried to your liking and crispy bacon tucked inside.
Local ingredients make all the difference in this flavour-packed brekky.
Our favourite by far though is the Veggie Brekky, with soft and juicy cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach, avocado and two slices of perfectly toasted rye. The best part though was the vegetable ramekin on the side, with baked beans, pumpkin, carrot, corn and spinach - something we had not come across before. It was a delicious surprise and one we plan to try to replicate at home!
Veggie Brekky - colourful, healthy and delicious!
If you've got a bit of a sweet tooth then Gemma's homemade cakes and slices will surely satisfy. We will definitely be going back to try the Cranberry Biscuit Slice on our next visit. Who knows we may even make it our breakfast dessert - that's a thing right?
Breakfast dessert is definitely a thing.
Four-pawed friends are more than welcome and you can walk straight into the courtyard dining area from the back gate. Gemma's home-made doggy treats will bring a smile to your doggy's dial after a wonderful walk on the beach! And if your pup is extra well behaved, they may even be lucky to earn a freebie from the offcuts.
Give your pooch a healthy, delicious treat.
With a friendly, homely atmosphere to linger over breakfast or lunch you can't go wrong dining in at Stir Coffee. But if you're In a rush, you can take away a bite to eat or a cup to sip to make your morning drive to work so much better.
We give Stir Cafe a stirring 4.5/5 Wanders for their fantastic food, delicious coffee and for supporting the local community!
Where 1 Wander isn't worth getting off the couch for and 5 Wanders should leave a trail of dust in your wake: it's that good.
