I love a good Thai curry and am always on the hunt for a well-made curry. Sticky Rice Bar and Restaurant in Tugun meets all my expectations and more as I am a repeat customer - I don't know how many times over. This quaint, small little restaurant situated upstairs, above Subway and Café Carlibu won't disappoint, but I highly recommend to make a booking. The cool chill-out vibe of the old school glitzy 1970's Gold Coast decor is modern, which will bring back oh so many memories of the 1970s. There is lots of green in the restaurant, so if you love the colour green and a tropical paradise themed restaurant to dine in, this is the place for you.

The staff are super friendly and are excellent service attendants, knowing the menu inside out and back to front, and are more than happy to answer any queries, about their amazing menu. We shared several small dishes amongst ourselves and were pleasantly surprised with the freshness of the food, the aromatic tastes and smells that the chefs so lovingly made. We had the Chicken Satay skewers which never disappoints, but the sauce is the best part of the dish. We also shared the Curry Puffs which are Vegan and the pastry was so light and delicate but delicious. The homemade Thai Fish Cakes were beautiful, and the cucumber relish is a thoughtful addition to put out anyone's fire in their mouth's from the natural spiciness of the chilli. This was all shared in the traditional Thai manner with a Thai Fried Rice, which was made from scratch. Not only is the food to die for, but they also make cocktails. So all you ladies who love a good cocktail after a hot summer day at the beach, hang onto your hats as these cocktails will blow your tastebuds away. Made there and then onsite at their snug little bar, the bar attendant will whip up one of your faves or one from the menu for you in no time.

The restaurant is family-friendly, with many junior family members enjoying the delicious meals Sticky Rice provides. The attentive staff ensure all junior family members are taken care of as well. The attentive staff provide gluten-free options as well as vegan options for all dinners and takeaways. If you are unable to get a reservation, Sticky Rice provides takeaway as an option, which has the same menu for in house dinners. Sticky Rice is open daily from 5pm to 8:30pm Tuesday to Saturday and is located at Shop 7/443 Golden Four Dr, Tugun, just behind Tugun Beach.
