Well, today when I called in to the library at about 2.30pm, I was disappointed to see that Stephen had taken a break, so I couldn't watch him draw.

On the other hand, his absence did mean that I could take a photo that showed all of the panorama. As you can see, he's about three-quarters of the way through inking in the detail -- so he's right on schedule for Day 3 of a four-day project.

Then, as I was leaving the library, I spotted Stephen standing outside getting some fresh air. I went up to say hello, and asked him whether it was physically strenuous working so intensively on such a large piece. He replied that it was OK, but that he did need to take a break sometimes to give his hand a rest.

I left the softly-spoken artist in peace and went on my way. I'll be back tomorrow, late in the day, to see where he's up to.

If you'd like to see the panorama on the first and second days of drawing, check out the photos that I've previously uploaded.)
