For a free family friendly fun day out, you can't beat a road trip up to picturesque Marysville to view the beauty of the magnificent cascading Steavenson Falls.

There are two walking options available to view the falls from the base platform.

The easiest and quickest option is to drive to the Car park located at the bottom of the falls.

There is a small car parking charge of $3 per car, $1per motorcycle, $7 per small bus (up to 29 seats) and $14 for a large bus. Please make sure you have some money on you as the fee needs to be paid in coins - there is no card facility on the ticket machine.

The track from the carpark is gravel, but fairly flat and therefore, quite a leisurely walk. The distance is approximately 700 metres from the beginning of the track to reaching the falls and should take about 15- 20 minutes.

The awe-inspiring cascading falls flow from top to bottom at a distance of 84 metres.

If you choose to visit the Falls in the evening, there is lighting until 11pm at night, which creates a very beautiful setting.

The longer option which will appeal to those wanting a bit more of a trek is to leave from the Main Street of Marysville and follow the Tree Fern Gully Trail track to the base of Steavenson Falls.

This trail is a distance of 3.4 kilometres each way, so the time frame will depend on your level of fitness and walking level.

The beginning of this track is located just behind the Information Centre, so it is a great idea to call in and check for other great things to see and do in the area as well, such as visiting Bruno's Art and Sculpture Garden.

There is a picnic and barbeque area, fun flying fox by the water and of course playground at the Marysville Gallipoli Park , which is located the beginning of the Tree Fern Gully Trail. So perhaps pack a picnic lunch and make the most of what Marysville has on offer.

To take in further views there is a walking trail leading to the top of Steavenson Falls via the Keppel Lookout.

This trail is a distance of 15.5 kilometres round trip and it consists of an assortment of terrain, with some parts being steep but still manageable.

The view of the surrounding area which includes the Cathedral Range State Park as well as Steavenson Falls from the top are spectacular.

So choose your trail preference, make a trip of visiting Marysville and go explore and take in the natural beauty!
