For those of you out there who have an affection for steam trains this is an opportunity not to be missed. Brisbane has been celebrating 150 years of steam trains and this must be one more of the lovely celebrations which has been laid on for us all.
Take a steam train through Brisbane on a Sunday morning and enjoy the joy of riding in old carriages, listening to the hiss of the steam powering the engine, and watching the world go by but at a much slower pace then perhaps you are used to.
All the journeys are from Roma Street Station and they return to Roma. They all take place on a Sunday morning departing from the station at 10.15 am. They last for about an hour and the cost for an adult is $25, Concession is $22, a child under 15 years of age is $15 and a child under 3 not occupying a seat is free. Family ticket $75 for two adults and two children.
