Have You Lost $ Thousands
Wouldn't it be great if you could make a little extra money this weekend? Well you can, and it's not as difficult as you think.

According to ASIC, (Australian Securities and Investment commission), in Australia there is more than $677 million in lost shares, bank accounts and life insurance. This is how their website breaks up those lost millions:

330 million unclaimed in bank accounts.
295 million unclaimed in shares.
52 million in life insurance.

Some of this could be yours. Apparently many people lose track of their money due to moving often, moving overseas or simply never being aware it was entitlement in the first place. It is easy to check the database to find out if any of this money belongs to you. Superannuation is often lost as people change jobs or funds. You can also find lost money from deceased estates, share dividends, salaries and wages, cheques, trust money, over-payments and proceeds of sale by searching online.

So you're pretty sure you haven't lost any money? Well how about making some? Paid online surveys are a great way to earn a few extra dollars. The main tip for this extra earner is to register with a dedicated email account, this prevents your main account from being bombarded with advertising or offers during those times when you're not working.

Clean up and host a garage sale. Have you heard that phrase one man's trash is another man's treasure? Providing items are at the right price, garage sales can be lots of fun. Make it easy on yourself by grouping with a few neighbours, not only will you have a larger selection of items but you also have people power allowing for tea and toilet breaks. Do something nice by donating your unsold items at the end of the day to your local charity shop.

Check your loft for forgotten heirlooms. I discovered a retro money bank from 1975, an Avon product now much sought after on Ebay.

Personally I have two favourite ways of making a few extra weekend dollars. The first is to write freelance articles and reviews for online sites. Payment is given for articles that attract advertising revenue. There are other opportunities to boost the income such as recruiting writers, gaining awards for articles, entering competitions and arranging links on websites with featured articles.

My second best weekend money making activity is to shop. Yes that's right - mystery shopping is a lot of fun and great way of earning extra dollars. The main object of the shop is to review how a particular product is being presented and represented. Sometimes it's as simple as completing an online survey after the shop, often a purchase is necessary in which case you get to keep the item, this is an added bonus. The trick here is keep your purse in your pocket until you return home.

Have a great, money making weekend!

The mystery shopping site requires your personal tax file number to regsiter...It sounds like an ID scam!
