This statue immortalises trade unionist, suffragist, freethinker and founder of the Australian Labor Party in Brisbane Emma Miller, who lived from 1839 to 1917. It is one of a trio of statues (the others being Steele Rudd and Sir Charles Lilley) in King George Square.
