To celebrate the Dome's Centenary the State Library has some free exhibitions and tours.

Free, secular and democratic: building the Public Library 18531913 - Explore the great master piece of the 19th Century and discover what inspired it - from it's founding as the Melbourne Public Library in 1853 to revealing the dome reading room in 1913.

The exhibition is curated by Harriet Edquist - Professor of Architectural History at RMIT and Director of RMIT Design Archives.

Dome Galleries Tour - See the domed La Trobe Reading Room and highlights of the Mirror of the World and The changing face of Victoria exhibitions.

Enchanted Dome - This exhibition celebrates the dome's centenary - featuring representations of the dome in art and literature from the 1950s to today.

A creative decade: 10 years of Creative Fellows - In conjunction of the 10th anniversary of the library's Creative Fellowship a display with some of the publications will be presented in the dome dais.
