As the temperature is cooling and the winter rains are here, it is planting time. The Kaurna word for this season is "Parnarti".
To celebrate this season, the Port Environment Centre is giving away free native plants (tubestock). The Centre will be open from 10.00am to 2.00pm on Sunday, 11th June 2023. So drop by to get your free native plants and talk to plant wizard, Jason Cullen, who is able to answer all your questions on planting. You can also chat with him about starting your own native patch, be it edible, butterfly-bringing, pollination-loving or cockatoo-supporting.
While at the Centre, you can also browse their library or pick up some information on local plants and wildlife or chat with their friendly volunteers.
Bookings are not necessary and all are welcome. For more information, visit their
website. Port Environment Centre is located at 27 North Parade, Port Adelaide.
