Christmas Baubles and Stars of the Past
For some reason, there is simply nothing more magical than Christmas. When I think of Christmas, I think fun and happiness, love and nurturing and well, magic.

As a child, a special Christmas treat was going by the Christmas windows to see the moving displays and wandering around the city shops with carols whilist doing our Christmas shopping. I have such fond memories of these special times, that after many years of living in a city that did not have Christmas windows, a visit to Melbourne one late November brought these very happy memories back to life.

A big part of these memories are also the Christmas decorations. I still have and lovingly bring out each year at tree decorating time -the beautiful glass balls that my mother treasured for many years, and those not so delicate trinkets that my son made for me at school.

Tea Tree Gully Heritage Museum is giving you the opportunity to relive many treasured Christmas memories with their Stars of Christmas Past. From Wednesday 15 November to Sunday 19 November 2017, come along to the Museum located at 3 Perseverance Road, Tea Tree Gully from 10 am to 2 pm, to explore rooms packed full with old style decorations. Marvel over those you remember as a child and discover the stars of favourite Christmas stories and traditions.

Once you are finished strolling down memory lane, why not enjoy a cuppa in the tranquillity of the Tea Room. Then find your way into the gift shop, where you will find unique handmade Christmas gifts and home baked goodies to take home and share with the family. Finally, take the time to make your own old fashioned Christmas star to place on your tree.

Cost is $5 adults and $2.50 children under 16. Please see the website or contact the Museum on 8264 0309 for further information.
