Brett Lee heads all-star cast of Starry Sari Night in LiverpoolStarry Sari Night returns to George Street, Liverpool on Sunday 27 September 2015!With a star-studded line-up of guests including Australian cricket legend Brett Lee, Miss Universal Peace and Humanity Australia Pooja Priyanka and celebrity chef Fast Ed, this family-friendly event is expected to attract thousands!Come along from 2pm and enjoy a vibrant celebration of contemporary Indian culture, fashion, cinema, music, dance and cuisine!Highlights of the all-day event program include Brett Lee introducing the trailer of his new Australian film, UNindian directed by Anupam Sharma.Pooja Priyanka will be on hand to lead the Sari Fashion Showcase featuring the latest fashions from the sari shops of Liverpool, while Fast Ed and Liverpool Mayor Ned Mannoun will judge the Starry Curry Competition.There will also be a FREE open-air screening of Tanu Weds, Manu Returns (PG), the hilarious sequel to the 2011 Bollywood favourite, Tanu Weds Manu, as well as live music performances by The Pioneers, Jessica Jade, Electric Korma and much more!"This bright, sparkling event is a celebration of the unique contribution our Indian community makes to the Great South West," said Liverpool Mayor Ned Mannoun."We are honoured to be playing host to one of Australian cricket's all-time greats, Brett Lee, who will be talking with Producer/Director Anupam Sharma about their new Australian movie, UnIndian. I can't wait to see this cross-cultural comedy which tells the story of an Australian man who falls in love with an Indian woman – and it was made right here in Sydney".The entertainment will be spread across two stages and includes Bollywood Dancers, Dance Bollywood Australia, Global Martial Arts Liverpool, Kids Bollywood Dance Off competition, Nartan Institute of Performing Arts and much more. "If you want free live entertainment, you won't be disappointed – there's something for everyone!" Mayor Ned Mannoun noted.In addition to the entertainment, event-goers can also sample Indian favourites at the bustling food stalls during the afternoon and evening and enjoy a selection of fun rides and attractions.Starry Sari Night is a FREE event, which will be held on George and Scott Streets, Liverpool.
