Star Wars: Scum and Villainy
is a beautifully illustrated guide to the villains of the Star Wars universe. Not to be confused with the role-playing game supplement of the same name, produced by the Wizards RPG team (though I suppose you could also use this book as inspiration in creating characters for the RPG), this book is written by Pablo Hidalgo and contains illustrations by various artists. The cover doesn't really do it justice. Some of the illustrations are so beautiful I would gladly frame them and put them on my wall.

It's pretty up to date, containing characters from the more recent films, such as the 2018 film Solo: A Star Wars Story. "Villains" here includes characters who have committed crimes against the Empire, such as Han and Leia, and the rebel leader Jyn Erso from Rogue One. There are also pictures of various character's signature weapons and stolen artefacts. The accompanying text provides some basic background about the characters and settings.

Scum and Villainy
doesn't contain anything planet shattering about the Star Wars universe, it is very pretty to look at, and would make a good gift for a hardcore fan.

I was given a complimentary e-galley of this book by Epic Ink, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review.
