I like to participate in life rather than be a spectator. Music, dancing, theatre, travelling, food, cycling and walking are some of my passions. Writing is an enjoyable pastime that allows me to share my experiences.
This iconic
Star Hotel has recently changed hands and the new management team are making their mark. They have introduced a new menu and live music.

On Wednesday evenings, there is a wine & dine special where for $55 two people can have a bottle of wine, an entree and a main meal. The wines are an Australian sparkling, Chardonnay or a Shiraz - if you want to drink something else, you can pay the difference.

Tasty bruschetta (image JW)
The bruschetta was a delicious combination of roasted capsicum and whipped herb flavoured ricotta on sourdough toast.

Steak dinner (image JW)
The rump steak was cooked perfectly and accompanied by a tasty mushroom sauce, seasonal vegetables and creamy mash potato, there is also the option of chips and salad.

Pork belly (image JW)
The pork belly was a generous serve and the pickled pear salad, kale and vanilla carrot purée were tasty alternatives to the usual apple sauce and roast vegetables. The other selections for mains were a crumbed chicken schnitzel and for vegetarians a pumpkin salad.

As an added bonus to the great food and service, we were treated to music from
Matt McLaren. Treat yourself on a Wednesday night with dinner and entertainment in a relaxed but sophisticated setting.
