Save some space for dessert
The Star Buffet, located at the Ex-Services Club in Mayfield, is a must-try place for any fussy eater. I was lucky to have been told about this place as it is not on the regular foodies trail and thought I must give this a go, even though I was not a fan of 'all you can eat' places. I decided to take the most fussiest of diners, my young children, and gave it a try. I was pleasantly surprised by the keen interest of other diners as there was queue to enter the restaurant on a Saturday night. The cost for the entry was also very reasonable for non-member patrons and senior citizens are treated to a healthy discount. Children pay according to age.
The selection of food is well and truly fantastic with over 50 dishes to choose from. There are stir frys in all possible styles, roasts with all the trimmings, a very healthy salad bar, hot fried food selections, pastas, both fresh and cooked seafood and a dessert bar that will excite any sweet tooth; young and old.
The atmosphere attracts a few family gatherings and is quite popular on the weekends so there is a constant replenishment of food, so you can be assured that the food is delicious and fresh. The Star Buffet caters for small children and high chairs are available and there is wider seating available to accommodate prams. The toilets are a little average and there are no change tables available.
