I heard about Standing Room Only by word of mouth from a local coffee-head who mentioned that the Espresso Bar had opened with a $40,000 Synesso espresso machine. After hearing of this, I couldn't help but want to taste the offerings of such a machine. Situated in the busy Perth CBD, on the upper side of the Picadilly Arcade- SRO acts as a pit stop where there are no tables or chairs, no food, just coffee.

To the right as you enter is a bar where you can stand to enjoy one of the handful of roastings if you wish, however I find that SRO is the perfect place to grab a delicious and velvety smooth flat white when I'm passing through to run errands, and be on my way. If I worked in the CBD, stopping in at SRO would be a morning ritual for me as their game is always on point and the baristas who work there are friendly, knowledgeable and have a lot of pride in their work, never resteaming their milk.
