This gem off Stephens Terrace in St Peters, on the corner of Seventh avenue, is a favourite haunt of mine on a Saturday or Sunday lunchtime. An old transformed cottage, it seats 36 inside and the same number outside. It needs to, as this bakery and coffee shop gets very busy around weekend lunchtimes, often with the queue stretching out the front door.

Fortunately, it's not too hard to get a parking spot most of the time, with plenty of parking in Seventh Avenue or the narrow carpark at the side. The service from the friendly young staff (looking resplendent in their black uniforms) is always pretty good too.

A wide selection of pies are on offer, ranging from $4 to $4.50 each. My favourites include the chunky beef and potato, chicken, and chunky beef and mushroom pies. Their quiches are particularly good, and come in large family size to take home.

The coffee bar does a brisk trade too, and they also make a variety of milkshakes and smoothies. The lamingtons, carrot cake and banana cake are delicious, as are the range of sweet buns and slices. Or you can choose from a variety of fillings to have with a selection of rolls, breads and baguettes from the well stocked sandwich bar. I am hard pressed to find a better bakery in such a nice location in the Eastern suburbs of Adelaide.
