Join in the celebrations to honour the feast day of Saint Patrick.
There is so much more to St Patrick's Day than a pint of lager, wearing green clothing and wishing for a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. But who is this man behind all the fuss.
If you study Saint Patrick he was a well known Irish man who influenced many thousands of people to believe in Jesus. He also baptised many people to the Christian faith and taught on the Holy Trinity by using a three leaf clover to represent God the father, Jesus the son and the Holy Spirit.
Saint Patrick used the Irish Clover to teach on the Holy Trinity.
Next year the St Patrick's Day Parade Association will celebrate this great man of the faith by holding it's colourful 23rd annual St Patrick's Day Parade. This parade with fill the streets of Brisbane on the 10 March 2012. The president Eamon Gaffney states "the 2012 festival will encompass the entire spectrum of Irish culture; including music, dance, film and food.
The theme for the 2012 parade is "Ireland: Land of Legends". The parade is a part of the Brisbane Irish Festival celebrations that will be launched for the very first time and run from the 9 -17 March 2012.
You can join in this free community event by celebrating the parade's vision to honour the feast day of Saint Patrick. This parade would also like to educate, promote and celebrate the Irish immigrants and their descendants to Queensland.
The St Patrick's Day Parade Association would like to encourage participation from diverse groups of people expressing modern day St Patrick's Day celebrations. Your organisation, friends or family have been warmly invited to contribute to this event in the following ways:
