St. Patrick's Day Drink Ideas

Every year on March 17, the Irish pride and the green and gold are out in full force as people celebrate Irish heritage. One of the best parts of St. Patrick's day is Irish food and drinks or almost any food or drink that is green in color. There are several drink ideas that can get and keep you in the spirit of St. Patrick's Day from morning until night.

Appletini

The flavorful green martini takes only two ingredients but will likely still match your outfit on St. Patrick's Day. Mix about 2 ounces of apple vodka with 1.5 ounces of apple pucker. Put it in a shaker with some ice, shake it up and serve it cold.

**Vanilla Shake
**
This is a delicious dessert shake only for adults. Mix about 2 ounces of Baileys Caramel Cream with two large scoops of vanilla ice cream. Blend it for a few seconds with some ice in a blender before serving.

**Irish Coffee
**
Probably not a great idea for the morning unless you have a day off or you could get away with it at work. Fill a mug half way with coffee, then add about two ounces of Jameson Irish Whiskey, a dash of cream and a dash or two of brown sugar. Add a heaping amount of whipped cream on top followed by a sprinkling of brown sugar.

**Mint Chocolate Chip Shake
**
An option for kids, put two or three large scoops of mint chocolate chip ice cream into a blender along with 1.5 cups of low fat milk. Blend it together and pour into glasses. Mix a dab of whipped cream with green food coloring, then put it on top of the shake.

Notice how there's no green beer on there? Beer is perfectly great on St. Patrick's Day just the way it is. Grab a Guinness and you'll exhibit the Irish spirit in no time.
