St Patrick's Day is a cultural and religious celebration held on the 17 March each year. It's the date of the death of Saint Patrick considered to be the foremost patron saint of Ireland.
This year there will be an annual parade through the streets of Brisbane to commemorate St Patrick's Day and celebrate all things Irish. It will be held on Saturday 12th March starting in the morning from the top of Elizabeth Street.
There are four main spots in Brisbane where you can join the festivities:
The Pig 'N' Whistle will be hosting fantastic live entertainment in the form of Irish dancers, Irish pipers, specials on Guinness and Irish soloists/guitarist. Treat yourself to a delicious Steak and Guinness pie or traditional food and beer.
Irish Murphys can be found in 175 George Street. It has an authentic atmosphere in the finest tradition of the Irish pub. There are lunch and dinner menus with a great selection of cider, stout, whiskey, and local and international beers along with a fair share of wines, liqueurs, and cocktails.
