St Oswald's Church in Banyo runs their markets twice a year, inviting locals to showcase their creations and products for sale. The markets are proving so popular that they may become more frequent, with Brisbane's appetite for twilight markets showing no sign of slowing.

This year, the markets' focus is Mother's Day, and there will be many stalls offering beautiful handmade goods that would make a great gift for mum:

LIT Homemade Candles

LIT Homemade candles is a small home-based candle business with a lovely range of scented and unscented candles for every occasion. They make an excellent gift (hint hint for any sons reading this article), and you will be supporting the local community as well as an extremely hard-working young mum!

Jayded Creations

Jayded Creations is run by an artist specialising in framed photography and dream-catchers. So if you need something eye-catching to add to your own decor at home, this might just be the stall for you.

Boo2U

Boo2U is an extremely popular online business producing babywear, kids clothes, aprons and homewares. They also have a range of great small timber furniture items. Keep an eye out for them on the day, as they are extremely proud and passionate about how they make their products.

Food, drink and entertainment

As well as hosting these great businesses, the stalls will feature some lovely homemade food such as cakes, sweets, biscuits, jams and pickles, courtesy of the Parish's community craft group.

For those wanting something to eat then and there, there will be a barbecue stall run by local volunteers.

Or, if you feel like something sweeter, Colleen's waffles and ice creams will be there to save the day. There will be plenty of extras to pile on, like fresh berries, Nutella, chocolate sauce and whipped cream. Be daring and design your own.

There will be a coffee van on site, as well as a licensed bar offering beer, wine and soft drinks.

Buskers will be dotted around the grounds; combined with the background music that will also be playing, this is sure to create both a lively and relaxing vibe to the evening.

Parking for stallholders will be available behind the parish hall at 9 Froude Street and there will be volunteers on site ready to assist with unloading if required. There is plenty of on-street parking in Froude street but for those preferring not to drive, it's a five-minute walk from Banyo railway station. The nearest BCC bus stop is about a five-minute walk away. Plan your journey with Translink here .

Entry to the markets is free and there will be plenty of seating for anyone wanting to take a rest or to sit and enjoy the ambience.

So come along, relax and enjoy a fun Friday evening strolling through the markets, sipping a coffee or wine and listening to the music. Just make sure you bring your mum, or she'll never forgive you.
