Part of a chain of restaurants that specialises in offering up a wide variety of ice creams and delectable looking pastries, St Louis on O'Connell Street in North Adelaide takes pride in using the finest quality ingredients to make their products. The health conscious need not worry about missing out as the ice cream parlour also offer dairy-free sorbets and low fat yoghurts.
One of the pastries available during our visit, the Snickers Cannoli had a crisp pastry shell with a filling that tasted similar to its namesake. The pastry shell was also coated in chocolate to help add a bit more flavour, along with a dusting of icing sugar to make it look more eye-catching.

When ordering their ice creams, you can choose up to three flavours to be served in a cup, cone or a waffle basket. One of the ice cream flavours that we picked was the unusual sounding Blackberry with Ginger, which was a surprisingly good combination of the sweet blackberry and the distinct taste of ginger. We chose to have our ice cream served in a waffle basket. We found the texture of the waffle basket a bit hard to cut through but it tasted good when eaten together with the ice cream.

Another of the pastries that we enjoyed was the Mars Bar Cheesecake. The filling did not taste too cheesy and was contrasted well by the crisp buttery base. A topping of chocolate and Mars Bars also contributed to the rich flavour of the dish. To cut through the richness, a dollop of whipped cream was served with the cheesecake.

Aside from their dessert dishes and ice cream, St Louis also has a selection of dishes that you can enjoy for breakfast. The décor of the parlour gave it a cosy, casual feel. If you are looking for some delectable ice creams or desserts in North Adelaide, consider dropping by for a visit.
