It has become a Melbourne summer tradition to watch stars under the stars. One of the most popular venues is on the St Kilda Foreshore, as you get the cool sea breezes and a lively cosmopolitan area to boot.

This summer the American Express Openair Cinemas will be offering some 20 captivating events during the outdoor film season which runs between November 29 and December 21.

But American Express Openair Cinemas brings more than a fine line-up of movies to Melbourne's summer.

There is also:

Food & Drink

Ladro Pizza

The well-known Ladro will be making sizzling, delectable pizzas in a woodfire oven. These guys only use the finest ingredients from artisan producers. Outdoor cinema-goers can also enjoy the rest of Ladro's menu, which focuses on modern Italian dishes, with a local twist.

It's an unwritten rule that if you wander outside on a hot night, it must be with an ice-cream in hand. So here's the scoop - Häagen-Dazs will be there with their multi-flavours.

And what's a hot night without a drink to keep you cool. You'll find 4Pinescraft beer, PIMMS and Giesen Wines. Black Devil Cider will also be in full flow.

There are some 23 events happening at Melbourne's St Kilda Foreshore. These festival vibes will be in full swing every weekend with an array of alternative entertainment, live music and DJ performances before the latest and greatest feature films light up the big screen.

Come with friends, come by yourself but you can also bring the most important friend a person can have. Yes, you are free to bring your K9 furry friend to any screening (being, mindful of films with expected gunfire and explosions). Sounds like it could be a howling good time had by all.

This year's program is an exciting mix of box office hits and highly anticipated new releases including the opening night showing of critically acclaimed A Star is Born (Nov.29), Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (Dec. 20) and First Man (Nov 30).

Don't forget the kids. Get in the seasonal spirit with Disney's brand new movie The Nutcracker and the Four Realms (Dec 22) right on the cusp of Christmas and festive family fun classics such as Love Actually (Dec.9) and Elf (Dec 18).
