In the heart of St Kilda, a free two-day Latin festival is being held at O'Donnell Gardens next to Luna Park on February 24th and 25th. A weekend by the beach, filled with Latin American culture and energy, here are top 7 reasons to head to St Kilda Latin Festival over the weekend.

1. Latin Cuisine

Eat Latin American food from over 10 different countries. Peruse the range of food stalls serving up fresh food from around Latin America including Mexican, Brazilian, Spanish and more.

2. Beer Garden and Music

Have a beer or cocktail in the beer garden while 9 different DJs play music all day Saturday from 11am to 10pm.

3. Entertainment

Dance along to Samba, Tango, Salsa, Reggaeton, Capoeira, Cumbia and Bachata. Every hour on the hour, a performance will be held at the Cultural Spot showcasing Latin music and dance.

4. Parades

At 3pm and 6pm, watch parades including Maracatu and Samba - a lively and rhythmical Afro- Brazillian dance and see Capoeira, an Afro-Brazilian martial art that combines elements of dance, acrobatics and music.

5. Latin American Art Exhibition
