Not only have we adopted Halloween, we're well and truly making it our own with a four day celebration to mark the event. The St Kilda Halloween Festival is lurking to pounce on you and drag you into a web of excitement, with a variety of events. Make a date to be at Acland St, Fitzroy St, the Foreshore, the Townhall and Luna Park from 28 to 31 October 2016. Why not dress for the occasion and take a stab at winning the Halloween Costume Competition. Count Carlisle will be personally handing out prizes to the most scarily dressed trick or treaters every hour during the festival hours.

No longer just for little kids, the big kids can also join them, or bring them along to celebrate the spookiest day of the year. CLICK HERE to download the full St Kilda Halloween Program. Keep in mind that you may need to book tickets ahead for a few of the events that have a cost attached. The program also lists Halloween specials and parties in and around St Kilda at various venues. For instance, kiddies in costumes are eligible for a free kids cup or cone at 7 Apples Gelato - 75 Acland St from 3.30pm on Monday the 31st.

Spooktober runs through all four days at the St Kilda Town Hall - 99A Carlisle St, St Kilda. CLICK HERE for ticketed events like The Haunted Manor tour for all ages and The Haunted Manor After Dark and Asylum walking ghost tour which is for teens and adults. You can get individual, combo or VIP express tickets.

Along with 2 haunted houses with different scare levels at the Town Hall, there'll also be Melbourne's best food trucks, costume contests, Halloween themed games, amusements and more. Be sure to check out the page for legal warnings and other information, coz it's going to be a scary night.

Luna Dark is another very special event that requires an entry ticket. It runs from 29 to 31 Oct in the evening (6 & 7pm start times) till midnight (11pm on the 30th). CLICK HERE for tickets and other information. Be quick as only a limited number of tickets are available. Your ticket also gives you a chance to WIN a copy of the uncut version of American Horror Story: Hotel. There's one 4 disc set to be won every day between now and Halloween.

You can expect to find roaming zombies, creepy corpses, coffins and scares, best dressed costume prizes, rides all night, Circus of Screams, Blood and Gore SFX Make up, a howling performance by The Strays, and more. Luna Park during the day does not need a special ticket. Luna Dark tickets will NOT be accepted during this time, nor will day tickets be valid for Luna Dark evenings. Be warned that throughout the Park, a wide range of spooks are waiting to frighten you at every Carn-Evil corner, so get set to scream!

Treat Streets on Monday 31 October along Acland and Fitzroy street and the Foreshore from 3.30pm to 8.30pm could be a good way to wind down the 4 day festival. There's free entertainment for the whole family, including an outdoor cinema, haunted inflatable slide, roving entertainment, trick or treating and more. The Addams Family movie will be screening in Acland Plaza at 8pm so bring a pillow and a rug to get all comfy for this classic movie. Roving performers, busking musos, face painting, trick or treat trail and a spookbooth are also on the cards on Acland street. Take a snap at the photo booth for your chance to WIN.

Fitzroy Street has the haunted slide, a Kreepy Kombi; and it mirrors Acland Street with roving performers, musos, face painting and a trick or treat trail. Start planning your stand-out or stand-alone costumes and take a walk on the wild side. See links below for your convenience.
