St Kilda Botanic Gardens

Home > Melbourne > Walks | Picnic Spots
Published September 30th 2009
Just a short stroll from St Kilda's famous Acland Street is the beautiful St Kilda Botanic Gardens. The perfect place for a family gathering, wedding, kick of the footy or picnic with friends.

This picturesque garden is home to many gorgeous plants and wildlife and also has its very own glass house, where if you're lucky you might come across a few butterflies. The garden also has a charming rose garden, ornamental pond (which is great to read a book by in the warmer months), an Eco-centre, children’s play areas as well as a giant chess board.

The Eco-centre is also quite interesting, with a range of activities that you can be involved in that promote biodiversity and community action.

Open 7 days a week from sun rise to sun set this is the perfect place to go without spending a fortune.
