Have you ever wandered through an art gallery and wished that you could meet the artist? Well, wish no more as new art tours have come to St Kilda! While there are a number of art tours in Melbourne, these are the only ones in St.Kilda. Even though only a few weeks old, these tours are already proving to be a popular way to spend three hours on a Saturday morning or Sunday afternoon.

is the brainchild of Violet Browne whose passion and vision for the St.Kilda's art scene gave the rise to these new ways of interacting and connecting with art and artists.

Working with a local indigenous artist as well as experienced in tourism marketing and PR, Violet's dream was to combine art and connections to artists through tours. Her mission is to "unveil the arts community of St Kilda and to offer visitors and art lovers escorted, personalised, walking art tours, which provide exclusive access to the artists in their studios or galleries".

So come and meet the artists, hear their stories and connect with the artworks. Often when we look at art we connect on one level. On hearing the artists' stories, we are able to connect at a much more emotional and deeper level. Tour visitors can experience many art forms including indigenous, multi-cultural, modern contemporary, abstract as well as glass blowing and bespoke lighting and sculptures. And if you really like something you can buy it from the artists direct!

There are two precincts to explore through the tours:
Tour 1. St Kilda East Precinct 1 covering 7 galleries and studios.
Tour 2. St Kilda Central Precinct 2 covering 5 venues including an artist hub with 20 artists in residence.

Each tour is $55.00 (or $90 for 2) and includes an experienced guide, nibbles en route, a narrator at each stop plus artists' notes and a soft-drink at the conclusion. Note: Drinks and food are available for purchase at the end of each tour.
Note: Bookings are essential through Humanitix who will donate all profits from booking fees to Creativity Australia .
