The prestigious St Kevin's College Annual Art Show returns in 2013 this May. This major annual fundraising event for St Kevin's College, a private, all-boys primary and secondary school, which was founded in 1918, consists of an exhibition and sale of traditional and contemporary paintings by leading Australian artists. The event is considered to be one of the largest art shows held in Victoria, as it showcases some 700 artworks in a variety of painting styles and mediums.
The 4-day programme is held in The KC Smith Hall at St Kevin's College in Toorak and begins with an 'Opening Night Cocktail Party' on Friday, 24th May, and then the 'General Viewing' will commence from 10am on Saturday 25th, Sunday 26th and Monday, 27th May. St Kevin's College music students will be performing intermittently during this time and The Art Café will also be operating, serving morning and afternoon tea and light lunches. The event will then conclude with the 'Meet the Artists Night' on Monday, 27th May.
This popular event attracts over 2000 people each year from all around Melbourne and Victoria, with proceeds from the Art Show contributing to the refurbishment and expansion of St Kevin's College.
If you are interested in attending the 'Opening Night Cocktail Party', tickets must be pre-purchased and are priced at $35 per person. To attend the 'General Viewing' events, patrons can pay at the door ($10 per person) on the event date (St Kevin's College students receive free entry). If you purchase an artwork, you can then attend the 'Meet the Artists Night' for free, otherwise entry for this event is $17 per person (finger food and drinks provided).
