A fete known well within the community and around Melbourne, St John's Parish Community Fete is back again to celebrate its 61st year so come on down, bring your family and friends and join in the fun and festivities. Entry is free and it will be held at St John's Primary School, 490 Whitehorse road, Mitcham on Saturday 15 November 2014 from 10am to 5pm.
There will be entertainment for all ages. All the favourite stalls will be there. You can shop for pre-loved clothing, bric-a-brac, pre-loved toys, books, cakes and sweets, craft and gifts and much more. Rides will include the cliff hanger, cha cha, giant slide, chair-o-plane, ferris wheel, cup & saucer, seaworld castle and outdoor play-centre. The kids can also test their skills with win-a-bottle, lucky envelopes, pluck-a-duck, mini golf and lob-a-choc.
If you buy your fete wrist bands from the school office now, before the fete, it will be $5 cheaper than buying it on the day for $35. The wrist band will entitle you to unlimited rides on the day, 1 sausage in bread, 1 can of drink and entry into the colouring competition. As a family deal, if you buy 2 wrist bands at normal prices, additional wrist bands receive a $5 discount, but only when purchased at the same time.
Complete with 'live' entertainment, you can also enjoy the grand auction, fashion parade, face painting and tattoos and a colouring competition. When you get hungry you can chow down on BBQ hamburgers and sausages, souvlaki, spuds, salad wraps, donuts, hot chips, espresso coffee, Devonshire tea, jams and preserves, ice cream and snow cones, popcorn and fairy floss. An Italian restaurant and JJ's Bar will also be there competing for your business.
Raffle tickets will be sold on the day at $2 a piece with six fabulous prizes up for grabs. The raffle will be drawn on the day. The 1st prize is a shopping voucher from a shopping centre of your choice to the value of $1000 with the 2nd prize getting you a $500 voucher. Sounds like a day packed with family fun!
If you love baking and would like to contribute something to the fete cake stall it is not too late. We will happily accept whole cakes, cup cakes, biscuits, slices, muffins, balls, puddings or any other yummy goodies that can be sold - NO CREAM! All ingredients MUST BE LISTED due to health regulations and the finished product can be delivered to St John's Primary on Friday 14 November from 1.30am to 4pm OR on fete day from 8am.
