Supporting those With Intellectual Disabilities
There's no need to worry about not being swish enough for your next special occasion if you live near the St John of God Accord Op Shop tucked away in the tiny Apollo Parkways Shopping Centre. They even have a wedding dress for the bargain price of ten dollars. It looks like it has never been worn. The sad story behind this dress may never be known but the new buyer will certainly have something to smile about.
It looks brand new
It's a long time since I have been op shopping so I was surprised how excited I was to get a few bargains. This op shop used to be located in the Churinga school but has relocated to a little shopping complex behind IGA and Apollo Parkways Primary School. I noticed the sign advertising one dollar clothing and other items and thought you wouldn't see that very often!
You won't get cheaper than that!
This smaller shop still Packs in a variety of items. Here are some things that you might have got if you have been to this op shop this week:
Matching full-length leopard skin nighty and matching brunch coat, floral high heel shoes, Christmas bonbons and other decorations, succulents, jewelry, and an anger management DVD.
Snap up those floral shoes before it's too late
I don't know if I forgotten how cheap things can be at an op shop or if this is a particularly inexpensive op shop but the prices were ridiculously low.
About the St John of God Accord Op Shops
These op shops have more than 100 volunteers working in their four locations. Donations, sales and contributions and work opportunities help enhance people with an intellectual disability.
The ladies viewed me with slight suspicion when I was taking photos and asking questions about the store. The St John of God Accord Op Shop in Greensborough have a bunch of loyal volunteers many of whom have worked for a number of years at the previous venue as well.
Spreading some xmas cheer
